Cerebral Palsy Award

In a heartwarming collaboration, the Cerebral Palsy Association of India (CPAI) and Maharashtra Times hosted the prestigious CP Award ceremony at Mumbai University Convocation Hall. This esteemed event, graced by renowned Indian Nuclear Scientist Mr. Anil Kakodkar as the chief guest, aimed to recognize and honor the remarkable achievements of individuals and institutions with cerebral palsy who have demonstrated exceptional resilience and determination. Heartfelt tributes were paid to the awardees, celebrating their inspiring journeys and unwavering courage. CPAI presented awards to five individuals and four institutions for their outstanding contributions in various fields, from academic excellence to social impact initiatives. The CP Award ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the power of perseverance and the resilience of the human spirit. It celebrated achievements while reaffirming the importance of inclusivity, diversity, and empathy in creating a more equitable and compassionate society. Attendees left with a renewed sense of hope and admiration for the remarkable individuals and institutions honored.

Project Shikshan

This project is implemented in three cities across India (MUMBAI, BHOPAL, AND LUCKNOW). With a dream to empower single mothers in our nation, this is a start to an amazing future; not just for mothers but for our beneficiaries too, who are the future of our nation.

LIVELIHOOD TRAINING PROGRAMS

CPAI has initiated a series of short-term livelihood programs aimed at empowering underprivileged and physically disabled (PDA) women and men. These programs are designed to equip participants with skills and resources that enable them to achieve self-sustainability and improve their socio-economic status.

3rd December is marked as international day for people with disabilities since 2013 Every year we celebrate this day with participation from students from mainstream schools and institution as a special initiative towards spreading awareness about PDAs We in association with the social welfare departments, encourage our PDA students to perform , entertain and compete in different initiatives. Our motive is to offer them a platform where they can perform on their special interests and abilities as well as make people aware of the potential of these special students.

DIVYANG SANSKRUTIK MAHOTSAV

We pride ourselves on being unique by providing unparalleled exposure and experiences. One such remarkable initiative was the Divyang Sanskrutik Mahotsav, held in collaboration with the Regional Deputy Commissioner of Mumbai, the Ministry of Social Justice, and the University of Mumbai, in both 2017 and 2022. Hosted at the University of Mumbai, this event aimed to offer a platform for individuals with special needs to showcase their diverse artistic talents, fostering hope and encouragement, and promoting high self-esteem. This program targeted Mumbai city, Mumbai suburbs, Thane district, and Palghar district. Participants included schools for Intellectual Disability (formerly known as Schools for Mental Retardation), Schools for Hearing Impairment, Schools for Visual Impairment, and Schools for Physically Handicapped from these four districts. They showcased their talents in dance, singing, drawing, and painting, highlighting their latent abilities and brightening their futures.

"Dakshin Raaga," in partnership with the Cerebral Palsy Association of India (CPAI), proudly presents "Judte Kadam" at Kalina University each year. This inspiring event showcases the talents and potential of individuals with diverse abilities, fostering inclusivity and acceptance. Attendees are consistently captivated by the awe-inspiring performances, which underscore the importance of embracing diversity. "Judte Kadam" leaves a lasting impression, inspiring everyone to celebrate differences and advocate for inclusivity in all areas of life.
