School
A growing number of children with special needs are being integrated into mainstream educational settings. Many of these children have borderline IQ levels, which make them unsuitable for full-fledged special schools where their progress might stagnate. However, their parents hold onto hope that their children can assimilate into society and function as normally as possible. Additionally, government regulations compel mainstream schools to accept children with special needs, even though they often lack the specialized educators, time, and resources necessary to adequately support these students. In classrooms where the teacher-to-student ratio is often as high as 40 to 1, children with special needs receive minimal individual attention, making it challenging for them to keep up. As they progress to higher grades, these students often face even greater difficulties and are eventually forced to leave school. In response to this pressing issue, CPAI in Vasai has pioneered a unique approach by establishing a special school tailored specifically for children from mainstream setups. Here, these special children are warmly welcomed and provided with the precise guidance and support required to thrive in a mainstream educational environment.
